Transport Phenomena in Thermoelectric and Ferromagnetic Nanostructures

Johannes Kimling – perfil de autor

Johannes Kimling, born 1981 in Heidenheim, studied physics at the University of Konstanz where he graduated in 2008. His diploma thesis, accomplished in the group of Prof. Ulrich Rüdiger, dealt with current induced domain wall motion in perpendicularily magnetized nanowires.
From 2008 to 2013, Johannes Kimling joined the group of Prof.
Kornelius Nielsch at the Institute of Applied Physics, University of Hamburg, where he studied the basic science of thermal transport in thin films and nanowires. Johannes Kimling received his Dr. rer. nat.
degree (summa cum laude) from the University of Hamburg in 2013.
After his doctoral thesis, Johannes Kimling moved with his wife and their two daughters to Champaign, USA, to join the group of Prof.
David Cahill at the Institute of Materials Science and Engineering of the University of Illinois as a Postdoctoral Research Associate.
