Egbert Richter-Ushanas who was born in Bremen in 1938 has studied Western and Indian philosophy, science of religion and several European, Oriental and Indian languages. When he studied the Rongorongo-tablets in comparison with the signs of the Indus script, he realized that word scripts are equally readable as letter scripts.
Since 2014 he receives a honorary donation from the President of the federal republic of Germany in recognition of his highly valuable contribution to the human culture. By the extension ‘Ushanas’ to his author-name he indicates his close relationship to the ancient Indian and the Vedic tradition.
