Randy Alfabete Villarin – perfil de autor

The author comes from the Leyte island of the Philippines. He graduated Bachelor of Science in Forestry in 2003 at the Leyte State University, now the Visayas State University (VSU). In the same year, he joined the faculty of the College of Forestry and Natural Resources, VSU. His involvement in the ASEAN-EU University Network Programme, a collaborative project between European and Southeast Asian universities in which VSU was a partner, had awarded him a scholarship support to pursue Master of Science in Forestry at VSU in June 2004. He finished the degree in 2007 with his research on “Phylogenetic Analysis of Philippine Dipterocarps based on PCR-RFLP of the Chloroplast DNA Marker”, which was conducted at the Department of Forest Genetics and Forest Tree Breeding of Geog-August-Universität Göttingen, Germany. In March 2013, he finished his PhD degree in Forest Sciences and Forest Ecology at the aforementioned German university. His study was supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
