Mladen Jončić was born in Niš, Serbia in 1985. He received the Dipl.-Ing. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Niš, Niš, Serbia in 2010, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the Braunschweig University of Technology, Braunschweig, Germany in 2016.
From Nov. 2010 to Jan. 2016 he was with the Photonic Communications Lab of the Harz University of Applied Sciences, Wernigerode, Germany as a research assistant (2010 – 2014), and as a holder of a scholarship from the Saxony-Anhalt Graduate Funding Program (2014 – 2016). His research focused on the short-range optical communication using polymer optical fibers (POFs), in particular on the design and development of wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) components for POF, and on the realization of high-speed POF WDM data transmission systems.
Mladen Jončić is a laureate of the Telenor Foundation’s Prof. Dr. Ilija Stojanović Award (2010), of the Special Award of Scidea Idea Competition (2014) and of the Research Award of IHK Magdeburg (2014).
