Chaminda Ranaweera received his Doctor of Engineering (Dr.-Ing.) degree from the Energie-Forschungszentrum Niedersachsen (efzn), Technical University of Clausthal, Germany in 2018, and the M.Sc. degree in Energy Systems from the University of Gävle, Sweden in 2012, and B.Sc. degree in Electrical and Information Engineering from the University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka in 2008. He underwent his M.Sc. research work at the Department of Energy Technology, Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Sweden in 2012.
His research area is analysing the problems associated with integrating highly intermittence non-conventional renewable energy resources such as solar and wind systems to the conventional power systems. The main intention of those research works is to improve the solar and wind energy share in the conventional power systems.
