Dr.-Ing. Susanna M. Lladó Maldonado, born on February 6, 1988 in Barcelona, Spain, studied from 2006 to 2011 Chemical Engineering (long cycle degree program) at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, and from 2011 to 2014 Master of Science in Bioengineering at the Institut Químic de Sarrià, Barcelona. Afterwards, she was employed as an associate researcher and doctoral candidate at the Institute of Biochemical Engineering of the Braunschweig University of Technology, Germany. Here she was part of the project Marie Curie Initial Training Network (ITN) EUROMBR – European network for innovative microbioreactor applications in bioprocess development. Dr.-Ing. Lladó Maldonado investigated the miniaturisation of bioreactors to the microliter-scale and the integration of online sensors for monitoring the most important analytes during whole-cell cultivation and cell-free biocatalysis processes. She completed her doctoral thesis at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the TU Braunschweig in September 2018.
