Baye Berhanu Yilma (PhD) is Assistance Professor of Textile Technology and plasma surface modification of textile materials in the Department of Textile Engineering, Dire Dawa Institute of Technology, Dire Dawa University, Ethiopia. His PhD is in Textile Technology from Bahir Dar University, Bahir Dar, Ethiopia and Albstadt-Sigmaringen University, Albstadt, Germany through a DAAD scholarship. Similarly, his MSc degree in Textile Chemistry and BSc degree in Textile Engineering are also from Bahir Dar University. Dr. Baye B. Yilma is the founder and vice president of the “Ethiopian Textile and Apparel Professionals Association”. In addition, he has a number of papers in reputable journals.
With 9 years of working experience, Dr. Yilma was the founder of the Textile Engineering Department in 2013 at Dire Dawa University and head of it for two years. Currently, he is the dean of the school of Textile, Apparel, and Fashion Design, which began on April 11, 2022, at Dire Dawa University.
