Professor Dr. phil. Jörg Vögele is Managing Director of the Institute for the History of Medicine at the University of Düsseldorf. He worked as a Lecturer at the University of Konstanz, as Research Fellow at Liverpool University and Assistant Professor at the University of Düsseldorf. He was Fellow of the University of Liverpool and Visiting Professor at Karls University Prague.
Current main areas of research include Historical Epidemiology, History of Public Health in Germany and England, History of Infant Welfare and Infant Nutrition, Migration and Health, the History of Demography.
