The aim of this series is to highlight research-relevant findings from undergraduate and postgraduate theses in equine sciences, excluding doctoral theses and postdoctoral theses.
The publication of bachelor’s and master’s theses in equine sciences is intended to create a comprehensive pool of knowledge.
This field encompasses not only issues from agricultural sciences and veterinary medicine, but also from economics, social sciences, engineering, cultural studies and sports science. The unique position of the horse as both a partner in sport and leisure and a working animal has led to the establishment of specialised undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in equine science at various locations across Europe.
The numerous dissertations written in these degree programmes, which reflect specialist knowledge and considerable effort, make a significant contribution to the advancement of research.
Unfortunately, a large proportion of these works are not published and are therefore not accessible to the interested public. Knowledge is lost, and with it the findings of outstanding academic work relating to the horse.
The desire to change this and to make theses available in an easily accessible and clearly structured format is the starting point and motivation for this series.
Prof. Dr Jens Tetens, Prof. Dr Achim Spiller and, in particular, Cuvillier Verlag look forward to your interest and a subsequent publication in the field of equine sciences.
Should you have any questions, we are always at your disposal and will send you information material regarding the publication of your Bachelor’s or Master’s thesis.
Please address your application for inclusion in the series to Prof. Dr. Tetens.
