Open Access to scientific publications is gaining increasing importance in the academic world. It refers to free access to publications from science and research.

As a scientific publisher, we see it as our ethical and moral obligation to make knowledge adequately available and to disseminate it. To support publications of titles in research and science in independent publishing houses and to make knowledge comprehensively accessible, we are taking the path to real Open Access: 1949 titles from our publishing house are now available digitally to the scientific world for €0.

Universities and libraries are also participating in the Open Access movement to find a way out of oligopolistic journal structures. However, this is mostly not a real Open Access system: authors or universities pay up to €3000 for Open Access publications, e.g., in the author-pays model, when scientists want to publish in journals rather than in independent publishing houses.

As a specialist publisher for scientific publications, we want to guarantee the knowledge community free access to information and knowledge. However, this is denied to you when Open Access publications in journals continue to be published for a lot of money. Even though publishing in scientific journals has increased significantly in recent years, these articles are often not freely accessible, so university libraries have to pay a lot of money to make the publications accessible to students and researchers.

That's why we have decided to make 1949 scientific titles from various disciplines available to you online as Open Access.

In the Cuvillier Open Access series, we regularly present E-Books that we make digitally freely accessible to you and the entire scientific world.

Within the framework of our license terms (CC-BY 4.0), you have the opportunity to read, download, save, link, print, and thus use free of charge a selection from a total of 1949 publications.

We are pleased to welcome you to the Open Access community and will be happy to inform you about further free titles.

This is our contribution to future-oriented research.
