Petra Schmitter – Author profile

Dr. Petra Schmitter originates from Belgium and holds a PhD in Agricultural Sciences from the University of Hohenheim. Before joining the University of Hohenheim, she studied at the K.U.Leuven and holds two Msc. degrees, one in Bio-Engineering in Environmental Technology and one in Water Resources Engineering. She has been working as an environmental scientist in national and international organizations and universities in Europe, Africa and Asia. Her research interest is related to the interaction between upstream and downstream human activities in terms of hydrological processes, nutrient dynamics, flood vulnerability and integrated watershed management. She is currently based at the National University of Singapore as Postdoc working on urban hydrology and flood vulnerability.
