After his doctorate at the University of Erlangen was Werner Dirlewanger Head of various data centres. He became familiar with many computer hardware and software problems. Later, as a professor at Kassel University, his work areas were software technology and computer architecture. Under his leadership, extensive HW and SW investigations were carried out in his laboratories at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Kassel University. In addition, he has worked as consultant for many other projects during the planning phase. He has observed that the question of miniaturization almost always existed latent. But the problems could not be treated numerically because no measure size was available. Now a solution to this problem is presented.
