Synthesis of Model Systems for SNARE Mediated Membrane Fusion Based on PNA/PNA Base Pair Recognition

Barbara Elisabeth Hubrich – Author profile

Barbara Elisabeth Hubrich, born in 1989 in Bonn, started studying Chemistry in 2008 at the Georg-August-University of Göttingen, where she obtained a Master’s degree in 2013. In 2014, she joined the Göttingen Graduate School for Neurosciences, Biophysics, and Molecular Biosciences to do her PhD in the group of Prof. Dr. Ulf Diederichsen at the Institute of Organic and Biomolecular Chemistry at the Georg-August-University of Göttingen. In the beginning of 2018, she was awarded with a doctoral degree. Her PhD research focused on the development of novel SNARE model peptides that induce liposome fusion. The highly topical field of SNARE protein research has fascinated her ever since she synthesized her first transmembrane peptide during her Bachelor thesis in 2011.
