In the context of this dissertation, neutral carbene, vinylidene and allenylidene complexes with bispyrazolylacetato ligands were synthesised and characterised. Almost all of the complexes obtained exhibited a stability towards oxygen and water that is very high for organometallic compounds. The benzylidene complexes were found to be active as catalysts in ring-closing metathesis. Questions of structural isomerism were investigated by means of two-dimensional NMR experiments and X-ray structure analyses. Mechanistic investigations were supported by DFT calculations.
