Abstract
of PhD thesis „Convergence Techniques in a Multi-Standard Mobile Communication Environment“
In this thesis several possibilities to use multiple standards simultaneously are discussed. The convergence manager is designed using different convergence techniques aiming for an efficient use of available resources. A simulation scenario based on co-location of UMTS and WLAN coverage is defined and benefits of convergence among multiple standards are illustrated by the simulation results.
