Corporate reputation is regarded as a success-relevant resource with high value-creation potential. However, there are only few empirical studies on how reputation can be systematically built and improved. This applies in particular to former state-owned enterprises, which generally exhibit comparatively low reputation scores. Drawing on 749 stakeholder assessments of former state-owned enterprises and comparable private-sector companies, Christine Prauschke analyses the determinants of reputation and develops numerous recommendations for successful reputation management.
