The aim of the project “Fit im Forst” was to develop an occupation-specific exercise programme for forestry workers in course format, for the purposes of prevention, secondary prevention and rehabilitation. The programme was carried out over a period of six months and evaluated at the outset and at the end using various examination methods. In addition to the SF-36 health questionnaire, posture analyses with the Medimouse®, strength tests and further examinations were conducted. All examinations showed improvements, some of them significant, but these could not (yet) be translated into a reduction in the number of days of incapacity for work among the forestry workers. In the meantime, the Niedersächsische Landesforsten and “Fit im Forst” have been honoured with the Personal-Management-Award for demographic management for continuing the programme.
