“But only moments later we hear a faint noise at the front door, as if a key were being put into the lock. Although we were dead tired just a moment ago, we now blink wide awake into the darkness and listen for what happens next. We can clearly hear the door opening and footsteps sounding. Then there is silence. Still on the ground floor, we now hear a soft scraping and muffled sounds of things being set down, as if someone were tidying up. When the creak of a stair reaches our ears, we know at once that the intruder is coming up to us on the upper floor.”

For the sixth time already, the young authors of the writing workshop in the winter semester 2017/2018 welcome their readers into their stories.

The cooperation between the Kinder-Uni and the Internationales Schreibzentrum of the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen makes it possible for us to learn something about the problems of a magician or the sometimes not entirely easy relationship between parents and children. In some stories it is difficult, both for us and for the characters, to distinguish between dream and reality. The heroines and heroes have to put their abilities to the test in a tournament and even learn a new language. In one story, a sweet recipe ultimately turns a fantastical journey into a culinary one as well.
