The present work comprises both spectroscopic and theoretical investigations of various 1:1 complexes of trans-stilbene with different cluster partners. The spectra were recorded mass-selectively in a supersonic jet by means of resonance enhanced multiphoton ionization (REMPI) in the region of the electronic transition from S0 to S1 for wavelengths between 308 and 315 nm. The focus of the work is the comparison of REMPI spectra for the homologous series of alkane clusters from methane to n-hexane with their perfluorinated analogues.
