In the present work, the effect of thermodiffusion in polymer blends was investigated for the first time. Using the holographic grating technique TDFRS, the diffusion (D), thermodiffusion (DT) and Soret coefficients (ST) of various polymer blends were determined. In the sample, absorption of a holographic interference grating generates a thermal grating, which in turn gives rise to a concentration grating. The thermodiffusion coefficient characterises the coupling of the mass flux to a temperature gradient in multicomponent systems. The Soret coefficient is proportional to the attainable concentration gradient.
