This work addresses the spatially resolved determination of the electromagnetic field of various radiation sources with complex geometry and the automated positioning systems (robots) developed for this purpose. Owing to their special design and choice of materials, these systems influence the field to be measured only slightly. The field homogeneity in a GTEM cell, the radiation of antennas above a conducting ground plane and the field coupling of devices under test in a GTEM cell as a function of their orientation were investigated. The results were compared with those obtained from numerical simulations or by means of other measurement techniques.
