From 7 to 9 October 2010, the 8th Berlin-Brandenburg Cattle Day, which by now has acquired a certain tradition, will take place. The conference is organised by the Clinic for Ruminants and Swine of the Freie Universität Berlin, by the Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR) and with the participation of the German Buiatric Society (DVG) as well as the Ministry of the Environment, Health and Consumer Protection of the State of Brandenburg. All previous events have so far been held on the premises of the Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR). For the first time, our conference venue will now be the Seminaris CampusHotel in Berlin Dahlem. The decision to change the venue was not an easy one for the organisers, especially since the BfR, with its hospitable atmosphere and optimal infrastructure, has always contributed significantly to the success of the event. Nevertheless, we hope that the change of venue and the more central location of the hotel will, on the one hand, eliminate long journeys to the event and, on the other hand, encourage family members to accompany participants to Berlin. A rich cultural and culinary offering, or a shopping trip, beckons during this time. Childcare will also be provided on the days of the event. Under the motto “Kind und Rind” (“Child and Cattle”), the little ones will also get their money’s worth under professional supervision.
