Sport has come to occupy an enormous place in our society. Sports law is merely the umbrella term for the various state as well as sport-internal legal norms relating to sport. The criminal liability of the adult athlete has recently come increasingly to the fore as a result of doping allegations. The present work, however, examines not only the Anti-Doping Act newly created in 2015, but also the background to this new legislation on the basis of the previous legal situation. Sports medicine and sports sociology aspects have also been incorporated in order to make it possible to understand doping in terms of its conceptual meaning and its effects on the human body. Alongside doping in the field of sport, both bodily injury in a wide variety of sports and fraud, above all in the area of match-fixing, form the focal points of this work. The draft bill on sports betting fraud has likewise been taken into account.
