In der vorliegenden Dissertation wird die Synthese der ersten Gruppe 10 Allenyliden-Komplexe beschrieben. Es gelang sowohl die Darstellung von Palladium- als auch von Platinallenyliden-Komplexen. Die Palladiumallenyliden-Komplexe erwiesen sich als hocheffiziente Katalysatoren für C-C-Kupplungsreaktionen. Weiterhin gelang die erste palladiumkatalysierte asymmetrische Desaromatisierung von Naphthalin-Derivaten.
