Within the scope of this work, not only were the most detailed polarization-resolved measurements on the OH radical to date presented, but above all a unified, sustainable model was developed with which all aspects of polarization-resolved fluorescence in atmospheric flames can be simulated in agreement with measurement results. In addition, NO measurements were carried out. Here, following A-X excitation into the vibrational levels v’ = 0 and v’ = 2, the rotational structure and the quenching behaviour were investigated. Both have hitherto either not been described at all or only incompletely in the literature.
