This dissertation evaluates the suitability of conservation tillage systems for cultivating peripheral agricultural sites. It compares conventional ploughing with reduced tillage, rotary tillage and direct drilling, considering technical, economic, ecological, agronomic and soil-physical parameters.
Based on multi-year field experiments, the study examines fuel and energy consumption, machinery performance, soil compaction, soil structure, earthworm populations, crop yields and cultivation costs. The research provides a scientific basis for assessing site-specific tillage strategies and supports economically viable and environmentally sustainable agricultural land management.
