Ensuring the long-term survival of companies requires the identification of an optimal strategy. The selection of a strategic option should be based on a company-specific, comprehensive and forward-looking analysis and evaluation that takes into account key interrelationships, influencing factors and perspectives and captures all decision parameters relevant to the specific problem at hand. To this end, this dissertation develops a holistic multi-criteria framework for strategic decision support that meets requirement criteria derived from Strategic Management and also incorporates the findings obtained from an extensive bibliometric analysis. The core of the framework is the controlling-supported application of the Analytic Network Process (ANP), extended by Benefits-Opportunities-Costs-Risks (BOCR) modelling, which is combined with an upstream, modified SWOT analysis. For practical testing, the framework is then applied to two concrete problems from corporate practice in Strategic Management and evaluated against this background.
