In this work, new chiral amidinate ligands are synthesised and new mono-, bis- and trisamidinate complexes of the lanthanides can be prepared. The amidinate ligands used for this purpose differ in their respective steric demand. In addition to different chiral side groups ((S)-1-phenylethylamine and®-1-cyclohexylethylamine), the substituent at the central NCN unit (tert-butyl, phenyl, methyl) could also be varied.
