Released hazardous substances pose a considerable risk to humans and the environment. Emergency responders therefore require suitable measuring instruments for their own protection and for the detection of toxic gases. The hazardous substance detector array with gas chromatograph presented here enables reliable detection of dangerous substances by means of an adapted classification method. Evaluation is carried out on the basis of the extracted features of different sensor technologies, such as photoionization detector, semiconductor gas sensor, electrochemical cells and ion mobility spectrometer.
