This dissertation investigates the behaviour of different process variants of post-combustion CO2 capture with regard to optimisation at full load, the behaviour of the PCC and its variants at part load, and the options for providing additional electrical power by lowering the CO2 capture rate.
The behaviour of the PCC is examined for the reference process, for various design crossover pressures, for a retrofit of the IP turbine, for a newly built power plant, for the application of a reduced desorber pressure, for lean vapour recompression, and for the use of a new solvent. In this context, the net efficiency penalty as a function of load and the average net efficiency penalty are considered.
