The use of quantitative nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR spectroscopy) in technical mixtures represents a promising approach for monitoring and controlling procedures within chemical production processes. The possibility of direct relative quantification without the need to add standards or to perform a prior calibration, comparable to a simple “counting” of nuclear spins in the measurement volume, further makes the method particularly interesting for metrological questions. The first part of this dissertation addresses the development of high-pressure methods for applications in gas metrology. As a complementary analytical method, NMR spectroscopy provides important insights here to support the preparation of highly accurate gas and liquefied gas mixtures. The second part contains application examples for process analytics on technical systems based on online NMR and Raman spectroscopy, using the industrially relevant processes of CO2 absorption in aqueous alkanolamine solutions as well as the hydroformylation of long-chain alkenes in a microemulsion.
