Contact-analog head-up display, series application, ergonomics, eyebox

The thesis examines the potential of a contact-analog head-up display for series application, both from a technical and an ergonomic perspective. For this purpose, a concept for a contact-analog head-up display was selected and further developed into a near-production prototype. The installation space of the head-up display proved to be the greatest challenge in this regard. It was reduced, among other measures, by optimising the eyebox and the image size. Furthermore, displays for the adaptive cruise control, navigation and lane guidance were developed and validated in simulator and field trials. By means of the trials conducted, the advantages of contact-analog displays known from theory could be demonstrated using subjective and objective data.
