The agrifood system is a significant sector of the region’s economy, encompassing all activities ranging from raw materials to the introduction of technologies that transform them into final products reaching local or distant consumers. This sector requires agents with robust knowledge of the input, product and market relationship who, applying it to production, processing and marketing, are able to understand and identify problems and opportunities to be resolved and seized in order to promote the positive changes that enable the sector’s improvement. This work brings together experiences on the subject in Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Argentina and Costa Rica.
