Within the framework of categorial educational theory, this dissertation examines educational processes (Bildungsprozesse) in physical education. These close interrelations between the individual and the world are interpreted, following Copei (1969), as ‘fruitful moments’, and their emergence is described in greater detail by means of hermeneutic interpretations. The aim of the subsequent study, situated within interpretive classroom research, is to identify the emergence of ‘fruitful moments’ in physical education and to render them fruitful for physical education teaching. The theory of ‘fruitful moments’ is of essential significance for sport pedagogy and sport didactics, as it adds a reflexive perspective to physical education and thus makes it possible to reshape it with regard to education (Bildung).
