The conference volume “Flexibel, stabil, innovativ – Arbeit im 21. Jahrhundert” brings together the contributions to the Multiconference on Work Design of the BMBF funding priority “BALANCE von Flexibilität und Stabilität in einer sich wandelnden Arbeitswelt”, held in Nuremberg from 19 to 21 March 2012.

Between 2009 and 2013, the 41 nationwide joint projects of the funding priority are investigating how the opportunities and risks that arise in balancing stability and flexibility to promote innovative capability can be harnessed and managed.

In six mini-conferences, the members of the funding priority and interested parties from academia, business and politics address questions of modern work design. In a total of 22 workshops, ideas for politics, business and society are developed that are intended to advance the development of future-proof solutions and approaches.

The book is aimed at interested readers from research and practice in modern work design.
